The new Museum of the American Revolution features immersive theatrical environments, object theaters, soundscapes, and mini-theaters produced by DLP to introduce visitors to the seldom-told, multi-faceted and on-going story of the American Revolution. In the museum’s 15-minute introductory film, Revolution, visitors encounter a world-changing idea and the passionate, turbulent ground out of which an unlikely revolution arose and continues to unfold today. Washington’s War Tent, beginning with a focus on the eight years General Washington spent in the field with his soldiers—returning home only once during this period—is set in a multi-layered projection environment that culminates in a dramatic reveal of Washington’s tent. The power of this treasured artifact connects visitors to the legacy of a man and a time when the future of the nation hung in the balance.
